In the contextuality of the so-called connected world, our natural universe has become a variable. Reality is declined in different modalities, namely AR and VR. A shift of paradigm is running, feeding new symbolizations of the actualization.

When computer sciences invest a research realm, the derived technologies and social developments come to run outside the rational imaginary of one visible nature with its geometries, magnitudes, logics, and discursive representations. Let’s illustrate with five major players, briefly commented:

Humans and things play gamified protocols for trusted consensus bypassing language formulation to chain a common time.

The Qubit moves the question ‘how to shape nature into a state-machine’ to ‘how quantum phenomena could be a design of computability’.

• Artificial Life

Self-claimed future biologists play life without any hypothesis on a chosen natural implementation.

• Metaverse

An immersive internet of perceptions comes to challenge visibility as a core contributor to our beliefs.

In fact, computer sciences symbolize realities with an implicit universal quantifier on their nature, even if one is required to implement them. Nature becomes a variable. This contextuality breaches the initial credo that nurtured the developments, the credo of one natural universe, following predictive laws, primary intelligible instruments of control to engineer services for the human condition. A welcome paradigm shift is underway!
